Mr. Museveni gives $100,000 in public!

A few weeks ago, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda handed a sack carrying about $100,000 to a youth group in public, so clearly that many people could see him do it.  At first, people were confused  about why he did it and criticized it.  Actually, the president did this to give money to help the poor people.  He also handed over 15 motorcycles, a minibus, and a truck in the same meeting.  The president shows how responsible the goverment is with their money through this.  Now, Ugandans are used to seeing the president handing out money in public events.  This is connected to class because when we learned about Africa, specifically Ethiopia, many people are poor and do not have safe drinking water.  Many people and their families do not even have their basic food needs.  If they were given this much money, they would have better living conditions, maybe even a better life.
